St. Paul’s Confirmation Ministry
At St. Paul's our Confirmation program is a time and place to learn about God, ourselves, and our relationship with God in Jesus Christ. It is a time of study, questions, fellowship, service, and fun. Our Confirmation program is a ministry of our congregation currently offered to families with children in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.
- 7th & 8th Graders will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:15 to 8:00 pm (calendar attached). This year we will be using the Sparkhouse curriculum, “CoLABorate.” There will be a class presentation, then the confirmation youth will go into small groups with their guides for community time and discussion of the topics.
- 9th graders have a short fall curriculum before their confirmation on Reformation Sunday. Youth will meet with Allison Wilcox on Sunday mornings in September and October. Confirmation Sunday will be the last Sunday in October, which is the celebration (in 2017) of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Completing confirmation during the school year allows 9th grade youth to migrate easily from confirmation to more active involvement in the growing St. Matt’s and St. Paul’s Youth program.
Joan Strawbridge is administering Confirmation. Pastor Mark is teaching the 7th and 8th grade classes. Allison Wilcox is teaching 9th graders, as well as leading the four parent in-service days.
St. Paul's is a "safe church". This means that all people who work with children or youth on a regular basis (guides, teachers) have had criminal and child-abuse background checks and training. This also means that no adult man be in a room with children or youth without another adult present.
