ST. PAUL'S CHURCH COUNCIL

The church council is the body of volunteers who, in partnership with the pastor and staff, deal with all of the management issues of the church from spiritual growth to financial managment to maintenance of our facility. Elections are held at the annual congregational meeting, and terms are for three years. Our council structure mirrors our Mission Statement to Announce the good news of Jesus Christ, Celebrate Christ's gracious gifts, Teach and nurture so all may grow in understanding of the gospel, and Serve and minister to the needs of all people

  • Council President - Pat Burke: Pat serves on the executive committee and leads Council meetings and congregational meetings. He also supports committee chairs and other key volunteers involved in lay ministry. The Council President also has responsibility for coordination of the Executive Committee.

  • Council Vice President - Wendy Voloshin: Wendy serves on the executive committee and leads Council meetings and congregational meetings in Pat's absence. She also supports committee chairs and key volunteers. The Vice President coordinates the efforts of the following committees:
    • Mutual Ministry - Al Colberg: This committee supports the St. Paul's staff and manages our Safe Church Policy.

  • Treasurer - Scott McPherson: Scott prepares the monthly Treasurer's Report to monitor contributions and spending. He also oversees bookkeeping proper accounting for offerings. The Treasurer is responsible for coordination with the following committees:
    • Finance Committee - Barb Dunn (Acting Chair): This committee manages the various accounts in which church assets are maintained.
    • Audit Committee: This committee audits the church's accounts.

  • Recording Secretary - Bill Lillis: Bill serves on the executive committee and takes minutes at council and congregational meetings.

  • Financial Secretary - Glenn Werner: Glenn serves on the executive committee and accounts for offerings. He prepares a monthly report to report on giving versus pledging.

  • ANNOUNCE - Steve Ellis: This chair coordinates the efforts of the following committees:
    • In Touch - Louise Griffith: In Touch is St. Paul's "in reach" ministry to its members. They coordinate the efforts of the In Touch volunteers who keep in contact with their member families.
    • Membership Ministry - Chair Needed: This committee coordinates efforts for "inreach" to new and existing members. They coordinate new members classes and In Touch Ministry events.
    • Rejoicing Spirits - Susan Crawford: Susan manages all aspects of the Rejoicing Spirits services.

  • CELEBRATE - Cherie Baker: This chair coordinates the efforts of the following committees:
    • Hospitality - Frieda Schmidt: Frieda coordinates the efforts of a volunteer army who provide the food, drinks and manpower to stage everything from major dinners/lunches to coffee fellowship after services.
    • Worship & Music - Dawn Beck: The Worship and Music Committee deals with all of the detailed planning that goes into making worship at St. Paul's meaningful, enjoyable and special.
    • Stewardship - Chair Needed: This committee encourages our members to share their time, talents and treasures.


  • TEACH - Kyle Gress: This chair coordinates the efforts of the following committees:
    • Christian Education - (Chair Needed): This chair coordinates the efforts of an army of dedicated, talented volunteers, including program coordinators and teachers.
    • Communications - Chair Needed: This committee coordinates the efforts of talented volunteers who produce communications materials in print and on the Web site. This committee also handles press releases and media advertising.
    • Webmasters - Dawn Beck and Barb Andrews: Dawn and Barb maintain the world class and brilliantly designed St. Paul's web site.
    • Youth Ministry - Sharon Burchfield: "God is good, all the time!" That's what you hear at youth gatherings at St. Paul's. Sharon coordinates activities for youth of all ages, working closely with Marty Schmidt and the many involved adult leaders who work with our youth. Sharon is one of the key adult leaders involved with the Troupe of ACTS teen theater ministry.


  • SERVE - Tim Beaver: This chair coordinates the efforts of the following committees:
    • Long Range Planning - Glenn Werner: The LRP committee looks at where St. Paul's wants to be in 5 years, 10 years, etc., and works with council to develop a plan to get us there.
    • Property - Chad Adams: Chad has the huge job of managing all aspects of St. Paul's property, including the buildings, office equipment, computers, furniture, carpeting - the list goes on and on! With the help of St. Paul's legendary Amigos, the Property Committee keeps the place running and beautiful!
    • Social Ministry - Shirley Deist: The Social Ministry group does amazing community outreach, providing helping hands with food baskets, special collection drives, and fundraisers.


  • Youth at Large - Scott Griffith: Scott represents St. Paul's youth as their council liaison.
