  • BENEFIT BINGO EVENT - SUNDAY, AUGUST 17th
    Please come and have some fun while helping our own 6th grader, Vivian Ferris, who is raising money to fund her 7-day trip to Washington, D.C. this Fall for the People to People World Leadership Forum. The fundraiser will be a Longaberger Bingo Party. Play bingo, try to win a basket or other great prizes, and have fun! Doors open at noon, and the first game starts at 1:00. Cost is $25 for 20 games of bingo. Additional bingo cards, raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets and light refreshments will be available. For more information or tickets, please contact Amy Ferris.

  • JESUS, JUSTICE JAZZ NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING 2009 REGISTRATIONS DUE BY 8/15
    Teens planning to attend the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans in 2009 need to have their registration forms and initial payment of $295 in to Marty Schmidt by 8/15. If you don't have a form, talk to Marty Schmidt or Dawn Beck.

  • COLLECTION FOR MILITARY OVERSEAS
    St. Paul's is collecting items to send to our military overseas. A box is available outside the office and will be there through August. But please don't wait! We are collecting Beanie Babies, single serving drink mix, Tootsie Rolls, non-chocolate candy, travel size lotion, first aid itmes, magazines, health & hygiene products, sunscreen, insect repellant, lip balm, beef jerky (no pork), toothpaste, power bars, stationery, dried fruit, protein bars, freezer pops, stationery. We also are accepting monetary donations. You can put donations in the offering plate marked "military". Checks should be made out to St. Paul's.

  • ST. PAUL'S COOKBOOK REPRINT HAS ARRIVED!
    Please see someone from Social Ministry to purchase your book. They make great gifts! The cost is $12 per book.



    ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • JR. TROUPE SUMMER THEATER WORKSHOP!
    LAST CALL for registration for the 7th (Woohoo!) annual Junior Troupe Summer Theater Workshop for kids. The program is available to kids who have completed grades 1-5 in 2008 will be held from Sunday, August 25 through Sunday, August 31. We will kick off the week after service on Sunday with a bagged lunch followed by practice until 12:30, and meet through the week from 6:00-7:30 to practice our show. Dress rehearsal is Friday evening. There will be a pool party at Mrs. Beck's on Saturday, August 30. We will perform the show after the late service on August 31 (the social event of the season). Adults and teens are welcome to help. We'll need musicians, stage crew, sound crew, light, crew, make-up artists, costume helpers, and actor management specialists (crowd control). Sign up sheets will be in the narthex. Cost is $20 for the first child in the family and $10 for each additional child. Scholarships are available if cost is an issue.   • FALL OVERNIGHT FOR 6th-8th GRADERS
    St. Paul's will be participating in JYG 2008 (Junior Youth Gathering) on October 10-11. The cost is $60 and includes housing (cabins), food (plenty), fun, games and worship time. The theme is "Inside Out", exploring ways to help us to match our outside actions with our inside faith. Friends are welcome! Registration fills quickly, so complete a registration form found in the hallway. For more information, contact Lisa Diewald or Marty Schmidt.
  • RARE BIRDS OUTING - STRASBURG RAILROAD
    Join the Rare Birds on an outing to the Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum, The sign up sheet is posted on the Rare Birds bulletin board in the downstairs hallway.
  • CASA HOGAR FUND RAISER DINNER!
    Please join us on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 for a dinner benefitting Casa Hogar. Katie Jones worked as a missionary at this orphanage in Honduras, and the needs of the children are very great. The dinner menu will include authentic Mexican fare, plus baked chicken and salad for the non-Mexican food eaters. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. They can be purchased in the narthex. Please sign up in the hallway as well so that we have a head count. Monetary donations can also be made and placed in the collection plate with "Casa Hogar Dinner" on the check. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be providing matching funds.

  • INTERESTED IN MEMBERSHIP?
    Please contact the office if interested. Courses are held throughout the year. For those of you who aren’t members, you are welcome to get involved in any of the social, educational, service, and worship offerings of the congregation.
  • REJOICING SPIRITS SPECIAL WORSHIP
    Join other St. Paul’s members and the local community for this service that reaches out to individuals with developmental disabilities. The services are held on the SECOND Sunday each month at 4:00 PM. Contact Susan Crawford for information.
  • IN-TOUCH MINISTRY
    An in-reach ministry that connects all our members through In Touch Coordinators. Contact Pastor Mark for information.
  • ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
    Please take a flyer from the Lobby Literature Rack to learn about the various adult Christian Education programs. Contact Ron Dziuk
  • TROUPE OF ACTS
    Teen Theater Ministry performs one major production each year, and are active in St. Paul’s worship events as well as “road shows” throughout the year. Contact Dawn Beck or Marty Schmidt if you are interested.
  • STEPHEN MINISTRY
    Provides confidential, one-to-one Christian care for people experiencing challenges in their lives such as hospitalization, loss of a loved one, loneliness, divorce, un­employment, birth of a child, and many other life events for which a person could benefit from an effective helping and caring ministry.

    A CHANCE TO LEARN
  • Evening Bible Study Tuesdays at 7 pm.
    The Applegates will be continuing their study class of the New Testament on Tuesday evenings, Beginning Sept. 18. The book is TBA.

  • Intro to Christian Theology Classes meet on Thursday evening in the parsonage at 7 pm.
    Art Beck is leading the class. Contact him for details.

  • Adult Sunday School Classes held on Sundays from 9:30-10:30am. Classes run from kickoff through the last day of SCS.
    Contemporary Issues – (Rm I upstairs), led by Dorothy & Tom Krynkow.

    Lectionary Discussion – (Pastor’s Office), led by Chris Robinson.

  • St. Paul's Preschool is collecting ACME register receipts for our newest fundraising opportunity. The preschool will receive 1% of what you spend at ACME. Please place your receipts in the box on the hallway table. Thank you so much your support. We have already reached the first $5000 in receipts (we get $50)! Keep eating for your preschool.
