The Women’s group started in fall of 2015 with the purpose stated above in our Mission Statement. We set up activities and events several times throughout the year.
In the past we have held a Spring/Summer Tea, a Comedy brunch/fashion show, gone to Painting with a Twist to feed our artistic sides, made Halloween ghosts and snacks, held annual cookie exchanges (very popular) in December, held a swing dance night with demonstrations and teachers, and sponsored game nights for the church. Additionally we’ve gone to the Uwchlan History lectures held over summer, followed by making our own sundaes; held a Bible Jeopardy tournament; brought in a storm chasing lecturer, and held an International Dinner for the church with 15-20 various dishes from different countries. (Delicious!) This past fall we joined St. Matthew's women at a retreat in Rehoboth Beach. Look for that again this coming fall.
From a service project perspective, we re-did the church bathrooms with new paint, ceiling tiles, art work, etc.; we are in the process of renovating the Parsonage; we served at the Reformation 500 luncheon; cleaned the parsonage and upstairs kitchens; and helped collect VBS supplies.
We’re always looking for new service project ideas as well as fun events. Come try us out! Questions: contact Karen Slyman (churchoffice@verizon.net) or Cherie Baker. Our current board consists of Karen and Cherie, as well as Diane Baker, Fran Kane, and Linda Sinclair.
